The Research Unit of General Practice, Department of Public Health (IST), University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a fully funded one-year postdoctoral position. The position is to be filled from July 15th 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is related to the application of system analytics and modelling within and based upon data from Danish healthcare.About the research projectThe candidate for this position will spend time on developing and publishing on three main areas:Readmission analysis in Danish healthcare based on developing and using AI/ML modelsSystem analytics approach to efficiency-quality trade-offs in Danish healthcare focusing on readmissionsTherapeutic inertia with a focus on explainable AI decision support for timely therapy adjustmentsThe work will be done in close collaboration with senior staff from general practice, hospitals, and health economics. About the positionWe are looking for an experienced researcher at postdoc level with documented knowledge and experience related to system analytics and use of AI or ML driven models on large data sets.We are looking for a person with good communication skills, an ability to work both independently and closely with other researchers and staff, and a person who wish to participate in the everyday life at the research unit.We expect that you:Hold a PhD in a subject relevant to the research topics.Have hands-on experience with system analytics and use of large data sets.Are proficient in coding and data management using tools such as Stata, R, or Python.Have a strong interest in the research area and have a strong independent drive to excel.Possess excellent collaboration skills and enjoy working across sectors and disciplines.Have strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.We offerWe offer a one-year postdoc position (37 hours per week) starting on July 15st 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter and terminating one years later at Research Unit of General Practice, IST, SDU in Odense, Denmark.
