The National Center of Excellence for Molecular Prediction of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (PREDICT), based at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Aalborg University in Copenhagen, is looking to recruit a talented researcher for a full-time 3-year postdoctoral position (37 hours per week) in laboratory and translational medicine to join our international and interdisciplinary center of dedicated researchers. Start of employment: June 1st, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.We offer an exciting postdoc position in a dynamic, informal, high-performing environment with dedicated, friendly colleagues.We aim to recruit an excellent postdoctoral fellow to join our multidisciplinary team working at the intersection of immunology, molecular biomedicine, and data-driven biobanking research.Your work tasksThe successful candidate will work closely with our international network of collaborators while contributing to the design, coordination, and execution of high-impact translational research projects and to our efforts to elucidate molecular pathways underlying pre-diagnostic and early disease stages in chronic and inflammatory conditions. The successful candidate will also coordinate research activities with the Danish National Biobank.Key Responsibilities:Serve as coordinator in international consortium collaboration of activities between PREDICT and partner institutions.Oversee and manage access to biobanked biological samples, including developing ethical protocols, ensuring compliance, and coordinating with the Danish National Biobank.Design, implement, and optimise experimental assays for large-scale immunological and proteomic studies (e.g., Olink, MSD, etc).Lead data analysis and integration of omics datasets, contributing to scientific manuscripts and grant proposals.Provide scientific and technical supervision to students and technical staff.Facilitate collaborations and ensure alignment between experimental and computational research teams.Your competenciesThe ideal candidate has:A PhD in translational and laboratory medicine within the field of IBD.Proven expertise in omics data analysis, including proteomics and metabolomics data (R/RStudio, multivariate and regression analyses, feature selection, and ordination methods).Knowledge of relevant laboratory methodologies, including immunoassay technologies (ELISA, MSD, Olink), flow cytometry, and mass spectrometry-based metabolomics.Experience with biobank coordination, including ethical approvals and project management.A track record of high-quality publications and international collaborations, including drafting scientific agreements.Ability to facilitate interdisciplinary communication.Excellent written and spoken English skills.A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.Previous familiarity with immunology, inflammatory bowel disease, and early colorectal cancer is advantageous.Qualification requirementsAppointment as postdoc requires academic qualifications at PhD levelWho we arePREDICT is at the forefront of international research to unravel the causes and prognosis of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), which are chronic and disabling conditions affecting millions worldwide.
