You will collaborate with world-class scientists in an international, flexible, and supportive environment at one of Europe’s leading research and education institutions.The jobAs our LIMS Administrator, you will bridge the gap between research and our data infrastructure.

You will own the lifecycle of our LIMS platform, Benchling, from strategy design and standardization across diverse labs, to daily user support and hands-on training. You will act as the Product Owner, defining the system’s evolution to ensure it meets the dynamic needs of our academic researchers, principal investigators, and core facility managers, while making sure that the data is standardised and follows our data workflows requirements.Our expectations of youKey Responsibilities:Product ownership and system design: act as the strategic owner of our LIMS platform, Benchling. Gather requirements from scientific stakeholders, design scalable workflows, configure system architecture, and manage the feature roadmap.

You will also be the link to the Software Engineering team, communicating the requirement and testing the implemented solutions.Standardization and governance: establish and enforce institutional standards for data entry, sample tracking, and metadata. Drive harmonization across different research groups to ensure data integrity and compliance with FAIR data principles.Training and onboarding: develop comprehensive training materials, documentation, and user guides. Conduct regular workshops and one-on-one training sessions for students, postdocs, and technical staff.User support and system administration: serve as the primary point of contact for daily troubleshooting, user access management, system updates, and bug fixes.

Liaise with vendors and institutional IT departments when necessary.Continuous improvement: monitor system performance, solicit user feedback, and proactively identify opportunities to optimize workflows, automate data capture, and integrate LIMS with laboratory instrumentation.Essential Qualifications and Experience: Education: Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. LIMS expertise: proven experience administering, configuring, and supporting a major LIMS platform (e.g., Benchling). Academic mindset: experience working within an academic, clinical, or research institute environment.

You understand the unique culture, flexibility, and challenges of research labs. Communication skills: exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to scientists, and complex scientific needs to software engineers. Problem-solving: strong analytical skills with a knack for mapping out and optimizing messy, manual processes into clean, standardized digital workflows.

Desirable Skills: Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies as a Product owner or Product manager. Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and compliance standards relevant to scientific data.
